Sei que a viagem a Marraquexe tem quase um mês mas não podia
deixar de partilhar algumas das minhas memórias. Confesso que inicialmente foi estranho,
não pelo facto das mulheres usarem um lenço na cabeça mas sim pela maneira como
conduzem (especialmente as motorizadas, uma loucura), pelos aromas que se
misturam constantemente, uns bons outros nem por isso e pela arquitetura dos
edifÃcios que visto de fora não são muito atrativos!
Parece-vos um mau começo?
Mas não é! Toda aquela estranheza inicial de repente desvanece quando chego ao
Riad, um pequeno palácio cheio de beleza escondida por muralhas, com uma
atmosfera mÃstica, intima e aconchegante. Quase
habituada a este novo ambiente, parto à descoberta da velha Medina, por
entre ruelas aparentemente para pessoas e lojas (Souks) mas onde o "trânsito"
consegue ser ordeiramente caótico.
É hora de comer e apesar de ainda haver uma
réstia de estranheza decido aventurar-me na comida tradicional, uma bela
Tangine de galinha, simplesmente maravilhosa! A partir daÃ, é comer em qualquer
sÃtio sem medo. Obrigatório comer na praça Jemaa el-Fnaa à noite, pode parecer
estranho mas é uma experiência gastronómica fantástica.
O que esconde
Marraquexe por detrás de altas muralhas ou daquilo que aparentemente não se
consegue ver? Esconde Palácios belÃssimos, mesquitas, ruÃnas, jardins secretos,
museus e mercados de rua cheios de vivacidade e de pessoas genuÃnas, onde
regatear os preços é um jogo onde vendedor e comprador saem vitoriosos. Este foi
o meu Marraquexe, um verdadeiro conto das Mil e Uma Noites.

I know that the trip to Marrakesh has almost a month but I could not fail to share some of my memories. I confess that
it was strange at first, not because the women wore a headscarf but
because of the way they lead (especially motorized ones, a madness), the smells that mix constantly, some good, other not really and for the architecture
of the buildings that seen from the outside aren't very attractive!
Does it seem like a bad start? But it is not! All that initial
strangeness suddenly fades when I arrive at the Riad, a small palace
full of beauty hidden by walls, with a mystical atmosphere, intimate and
cozy. Almost
accustomed to this new environment, I go to the discovery of the old Medina, between alleys apparently for people and shops (Souks) but where
"traffic" can be orderly chaotic.
It's time to
eat and although there is still a trace of strangeness I decide to
venture into traditional food, a beautiful chicken Tangine, simply
marvelous! From there on, it's to eat anywhere without fear. It's mandatory eating at Jemaa el-Fnaa square at night, may seem strange but it is a fantastic dining experience.
What does Marrakesh hide behind high walls or what can not be seen? It hides
beautiful palaces, mosques, ruins, secret gardens, museums and street
markets full of vivacity and genuine people, where bargaining is a game
where the seller and buyer are victorious. This was my Marrakesh, a true tale of the Arabian Nights.

devem ser partilhadas e é sobre isso que quero falar hoje. Alguns de vocês
(principalmente os amantes de motas clássicas ou vintage) já deve ter ouvido
falar do evento à escala mundial, The Distinguished Gentleman´s Ride.
Anualmente,
desde 2012, milhares de motociclistas unem-se por uma causa nobre, passeando as
suas motos clássicas e antigas em centenas de cidades por todo o mundo. O seu
objetivo? Consciencializar e apoiar a investigação para a cura do cancro da
próstata e, mais recentemente, a prevenção do suicÃdio masculino. Os donativos
serão mais uma vez aplicados na Saúde Mental, através da Movember Foundation. a
maior organização mundial para a saúde do homem. Os fundos angariados serão
investidos em programas locais e globais de investigação sobre o cancro da
próstata e prevenção do suicÃdio.
Os
estilos de motos que participam no DGR são particulares e conferem ao evento
uma essência única: Café Racer, Bobber, Clássica, Tracker, Scrambler, Old
School Chopper, Clássica Moderna, Sidecar, Scooter Clássica e Brat Styled. O

. É importante que os participantes respeitem o guia de estilos e o dress code do

Funchal Ride irá se realizar no dia 24 de Setembro em consonância com outras

Good initiatives should be shared and today that is what I want to talk about. Some
of you (mostly classic or vintage scooter lovers) may have heard of the
world-wide event, The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.
Every year, since 2012,
thousands of motorcyclists have joined together for a noble cause,
roaming their classic and old bikes in hundreds of cities around the
world. The goal? Conscientialize and support research for the cure of prostate cancer and, more recently, prevention of male suicide. Donations will again be applied to Mental Health through the Movember Foundation. the world's largest organization for human health. The funds raised will be invested in local and global research programs on prostate cancer and suicide prevention.
The styles of
motorcycles that participate in the DGR are particular and give the event a
unique essence: Café Racer, Bobber, Classical, Tracker, Scrambler, Old
School Chopper, Classical Modern, Sidecar, Classic Scooter and Brat
Styled. The guide is available on the official website at https://www.gentlemansride.com/about/style-guide. It
is important that the participants respect the style guide and dress

The Funchal Ride
